Renegades are not as soft on the hands as some of the other clubs out there, but they are very durable. In our club, the Renegades have outlasted a lot of other clubs especially with hard use. Every year or so, I just retape the handles and add new decoration. Not sure about 85 vs 95mm. Those not performing or doing numbers tend to get the thinner clubs.

I think those are fine clubs for anyone.

Just keep working on it a bit at a time,
the muscles will tone
the peripheral vision will expand
and the reflexes will get faster

My advice is to listen to some music or the news and let part of practice take place in a more subconscious level.
Sort of like bike riding where it gets a lot better the less you think about it.

They are in the aforementioned performance group and still rockin it in the Bay Area. They can help ya with club juggling. Ooh, and Bri---she lives with them too and is a great juggler!

Curious what weight you got (240g or 260g) as that maybe your biggest trouble---ie if you got a set of 260s I can see it being not so comfy.

But more importantly---you say they are heavy and not as comfortable for you as you'd like, so get new ones! Passing is arguably the most fun thing about club juggling, but unless you are working with beginning passers, most people can handle any club type(within reason).

I like the European Dual Arc Juggling Club from Dube over Renegade's clubs, but that's personal preference. The performance group I'm in got PX3 UV-reactive clubs from Higgins Brothers because they were cheaper, more brightly colored, UV-reactive and have a more flexible handle than other juggling clubs so they hurt less over long practice sessions. But we've brought them to juggling conventions and had no issue incorporating ourselves into other jugglers' patterns. That's why I say pick a set that YOU like.

If you plan on working on some very intense juggling patterns with a group of people the weight and dimensions can come into play, but in that case yall should have the same club type. (Plus, if you are working on performance pieces you are going to have to match color scheme anyway ;) ) And that will only make the process easier, not make it go from impossible to possible. In my opinion, doing things on 'hard mode' often lends you more education. The experienced club passer who teaches a beginner will learn from handling very awkward passes and pair of experienced passers will learn from off-weight clubs. If you learn to pass using a more difficult set of parameters---ie, off weight clubs---you will become a passer who can *adapt* to situations that are unexpected more easily from my experience.
